Survey shows residents uninformed about exchange
Three articles in the March 18, 2013 NAHU newswire include updates from New Hampshire. A non scientific survey commissioned by New Hampshire Voices for Health suggests that much needs to be done to educate businesses about the health insurance marketplaces.
Former Senator, John E. Sununu criticized the Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges (marketplaces). He is quoted in saying: “No one knows how well the exchanges, however much they cost, will work. Under community-rating standards, premiums are likely to increase for younger and healthier participants; consumers may not like the four specific plans mandated by the government; and customer service – something few government-run agencies do well – might fall short of expectations.”
Lastly, the New Hampshire house will vote this week on a bill blocking Medicaid expansion.
