Health Insurance Exchanges Entrench States

February 6, 2012

NH Legislators looking at legislation to prohibit state exchange

The New Hampshire House of Representatives will soon take up legislation that will prohibit a state health insurance exchange and force Washington to repeal, replace, or amend Obamacare. House speaker William O'Brien, D.J. Bettencourt, the House majority leader, and Andrew Manuse, a member of the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee and the Joint Health Care Reform Oversight argue that the creation of an exchange entrenches the law in New Hampshire regardless if it is found unconstitutional or not. The more states that implement the exchanges, the closer Obamacare becomes a reality. More on this story can be found in the February 6, 2012, NAHU Newswire.
