January 25, 2012

Concerns that industry complaints about costs may derail requirement

A letter from consumer groups encouraged the Obama administration to implement the simplified health plan summaries as soon as possible while requiring that multiple coverage examples and premium information be included. The industry has complained that the regulation as proposed is too costly, burdensome and intrusive. More on this article can be found in the January 26, 2012 NAHU Newswire.

The January 25, 2012 NAHU Newswire includes an article about proposed legislation in Florida. The legislature has proposed that doctors and some medical care centers post on signs in their waiting rooms measuring 3 feet by 5 feet showing the prices to be charge for a self-paying customer.
