Spending Gaps Increase Between States

CMS says Massachusetts is the Top Spender

A state-by-state report released by CMS found the gap for medical spending per resident is widening. Included in the highest spending states is Massachusetts (#1) followed by Alaska, Connecticut, Maine, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Pennsylvania. The lowest spending states include Texas, Colorado, Arkansas, California and Alabama. Noted were the lower spending sates had lower per capita income, younger populations and more uninsured.
