Ponemon Institute releases study

Reported in the December 2, 2011 NAHU Newswire : According to the Ponemon Institute, data breaches at US Healthcare providers are increasing. Not enough money is being spent on security with the adoption of electronic medical records. The group found a 32 percent increase in data breaches in 2011 from the prior year. Nearly half of the breaches were as a result of devices being lost or stolen.
