Upheld Individual mandate to purchase health insurance

The November 9, 2011 NAHU Newswire reports a Washington federal appeals panel upheld the healthcare reform law key mandate which requires Americans to purchase health insurance or pay a penalty. It is expected that the Supreme Court will make a final determination. The Court is schedule to meet in private Thursday to decide whether to hear arguments in the case.

Also reported is an article stating the volume of small businesses taking advantage of the tax credits available under the healthcare reform law were lower than anticipated. Reasons cited for not taking advantage of the credits were the time and effort to claim the credit.
