National Governors Association Sends Letter to HHS Secretary

Urging federal officials to take over certain functions

The November 7, 2011 NAHU Newswire includes the following story in addition to other interesting headlines from Medicaid spending cuts to continued Healthcare reform concerns.

In a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the National Governors Association (NGA) urged HHS to allow states to turn over to federal officials functions that the states have little or no current operational role. Such areas include: determination of federal tax credits to purchase insurance, handling appeals and enforcing individual mandate.
