HHS Will Not Implement Long-Term Care Insurance Provision of Healthcare Reform

Doubts over its financial solvency

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius informed Congress that Health and Human Services would not be implementing what is know as the CLASS Act (Community Living Assistance Services and Supports program. The voluntary program was expected to launch next year but the financial solvency of the program was in question. This is the first piece of the health care reform that the Obama administration has backed away from.
