Supreme Court May Wait Until After Presidential Election to Rule on Health Care Reform

October 6, 2011

Constitutionality of individual mandate in the balance

The October 5, 2011 NAHU Newswire is reporting that the Supreme Court Justices may delay a decision on the constitutionality of healthcare reform until after the 2012 presidential election. There are concerns that the ruling could impact the reputation of the court by possibly affecting the results of the presidential race.

Reported in the October 6, 2011, NAHU Newswire is a warning by NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein to the Oklahoma state legislature cautioning the lawmakers against..."allowing a federal health-care exchange to be imposed on the state because it probably would not require so-called navigators to have insurance agents licenses even though they would be providing many of the same services."
