| News Affordable Coverage Not Defined July 26, 2011 Employers face fines if not providing "affordable coverage" The July 25, 2011 NAHU Newswire reports that large employers are still waiting for regulations from the Treasury Department to determine what "affordable coverage" means. Estimates for the number of people that would obtain coverage through the Exchange vary between 4.7 to 13 million depending on the final ruling if "affordable coverage" means for a single or a family. The CBO released its review of the Medicaid Bill introduced by Sen. Michael B. Enzi (R-WY). The analysis released last Friday said it would save about $14.6 billion through 2012. That is $1.6 billion more than previously estimated. This bill targets early retirees that sign up for Medicaid because of a loophole in the recently passed health care law. More on this story can be found in the July 26, 2011 NAHU Newswire. |
