President Proposes Raising Medicare Eligibility Age

Proposal would take effect after 2012 elections

As part of the debt-ceiling negotiations, President Obama has proposed to raise the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 67 if the Republicans will agree to raising revenues. In New Hampshire, the Executive Council has voted to cancel the state's contract with Planned Parenthood in addition to up to $1.8 million in state funding.

Yesterday, HHS released rules for state health exchanges. Some think the rules will lead to more questions. The expectation is that the exchanges will pool risks and allow individuals and small businesses to have the same purchasing power as large business
