Senate Democrats say they have the votes

In the June 10, 2010 NAHU Newswire, Senate Democrats claim they have enough votes to block the GOP in their effort to overhaul Medicaid. Some suggest that the omission of some key Democrats may involve negations over raising the debt limit. Democrats are opposed to Medicaid block grants and other spending caps.

The June 13, 2011 NAHU Newswire reports that the High Risk Pool that was part of healthcare reform has seen enrollment now exceed 20,000 in April. The easing of requirements for applicants and the reduction of premiums could be the answer to the increased enrollment.
