House Chairmen Request Healthcare Spending Reduction Plan From President

President plans to cut $480 billion over next twelve years

Representatives Dave Camp (R-MI) and Fred Upton (R-MI), the chairmen of the Ways and Means Committee and Commerce panels have requested a detailed plan from the President on how he plans to reduce federal healthcare spending by $480 billion over the next twelve years. Jay Carney, the President's press secretary says the plan is "quite detailed" and suggests that reaching a bipartisan agreement on how to balance spending cuts with tax reform is of more importance.
