President Signals Medicare Must Change

Necessary to avert fiscal crunch

With the aging population and rising medical costs, it is agreed that Medicare needs to change but both sides of the aisle are in disagreement on how to manage the change. Other news in the April 13, 2011 NAHU Newswire include the Georgia Senate approving a bill that allows consumers to purchase health insurance policies from other states. This means that those policies don't have to include all of the Georgia state mandated coverage requirements of Georgia Law. Some contend that this could make insurance more affordable while other believe that consumers could end up with policies that leave coverage gaps.
