Employer Sponsored Healthcare Coverage Down

December 21, 2010

Three-Year Low

A poll released by Gallup notes a new low of adults covered by employer-sponsored healthcare. In 2008, 50% said they got their insurance through their employer as compared to 44.8 in 2010.

Walgreens and Health and Human Services are working to provide free flu vaccines to uninsured. Fifteen cities are targeted in this round to promote public health. A ten million dollar donation from Walgreens will help launch the program in eight U.S. cities. Atlanta, Bronx, N.Y., Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., Newark, N.J., Oakland, Calif., and Philadelphia.

Other Healthcare news and legislation can be read in the December 20, 2010 NAHU Newswire.
