Legal Challenges of Healthcare Law Moving Forward

October 6, 2010

Judges expected to rule on lawsuits

The October 6, 2010 NAHU Newswire reports that a federal judge in Florida is expected to issue a preliminary ruling this week or early next week on one of the most prominent lawsuits against Healthcare reform. The suit seeks to have the act declared unconstitutional. A judge in Michigan may act on a request by the Thomas More Law Center to issue an injunction blocking the government from further implementing the law. These lawsuits may make their way to the Supreme Court. The individual mandate to purchase health insurance is at the core of most of these lawsuits.
