U.S. Hospitals Challenged with ERH Standard

Only two percent of hospitals meet federal criteria

Modern Healthcare reports that most U.S. hospitals cannot meet the federal government "meaningful-use" standards that would allow them to qualify for subsidy payments through stimulus funding. Data was analyzed from an American Hospital Association survey that polled over 3,000 nonfederal, acute care hospitals about their IT capabilities as of March, 1, 2009.
