Law Enforcement Cracking Down on Fake Insurance Plans

Federal Trade Commission and state agencies involved

Twenty-four states have filed either lawsuits or regulatory actions to stop fake insurance carriers. The fake carriers promise significantly reduced medical insurance premiums. Some of their marketing techniques include faxing and robo calling. Some have gone as far as accepting the enrollment fees an then not allow the individuals to disenroll. If you believe you may have been lured into purchasing one of these plans, you should contact the State of New Hampshire Insurance Department or the Attorney General's Office.
