President Postpones Medicare Physician Cuts

June 15, 2010

CMS to holding claims until Friday

CMS anticipates that Congress will intervene this week to prevent doctors from receiving a twenty-one percent paycut for Medicare related services. In an AMA online poll of nine thousand physicians, seventeen percent have indicated they have already limited the amount of Medicare patients in their practices.

The Administration has released new rules for employer-sponsored plans. The new regulation discourages companies from scaling back health plan benefits. Numerous agencies will be commenting on the rules. It is uncertain when the final rules will be released.
