HHS Director to Address Medicare Reimbursement Inequities

Geographic location a factor

Some members of Congress thought they had secured extra Medicare funding for low cost hospitals in their states which they say were underpaid by Medicare. Now, it looks like New York will receive more than any other state and some of the Congressional leaders that were proponents of the bonus payments may not receive any for their states. Sebelius will release her report once a study by the National Academy of Sciences studies is completed.
