CMS Issues Draft Agreement

Medicare Part D 50% discount on drugs

CMS has published a draft agreement that drug manufacturers will sign as part of health care reform. Medicare recipients will see a 50% discount on brand name and some generic drugs when they enter the doughnut hole gap in 2011.

It is reported that 29 states have agreed to operate temporary high-risk pools for uninsured individuals with chronic diseases. Health and Human Services will run programs in states that have declined to participate in the program.
