Massachusetts Health Insurers 1st Quarter Losses Over $100 Million

Insurers blame Governor and Department of Insurance

After Governor Deval Patrick instructed the Department of Insurance to reject small business rate increases that they deemed excessive, four of the major players in the Massachusetts health insurance market are reporting over $100 million in losses for the first quarter.
