CBO Increases Health Care Reform Costs by $115 Billion

May 13, 2010

Health Care Reform could top $1 Trillion

Contained within the healthcare bill are 406 pages of grant programs with no specific funding attached to them. According to the CBO: "the added spending includes $10 billion to $20 billion in administrative costs to federal agencies carrying our the new law, as well as $34 billion for community health centers and $39 billion for Indian health care."

The number of states now pursuing efforts to block the mandatory requirement for American's to purchase health insurance is up to 33. Many constitutional scholars state the chances of the suit prevailing are slim while activists think it may narrow "the law's scope and possibly" destroy it.
