House Passes Healthcare Bill 219-212

Battle moves to Senate and Courts

In what is being deemed as an historic piece of legislation that will touch every American's life is now being sent to the Senate for final approval under the reconciliation process and is expected to make it to the President's desk for signature later this week. It is not without potential court challenges from states on grounds it violates the Constitution by requiring individuals to purchase insurance. Three states, Florida, Virginia and South Carolina have indicated they will be filing challenges with the courts in response to the bills passage.
