Is reconciliation the answer?

Despite public opposition to health reform set forth in the house and senate bills, the President is urging the two houses to push through healthcare reform. Democrats are now opening talking about a simple majority vote known as reconciliation.

Some question if the recent criticism of insurance carriers is to distract voters from the real issues of healthcare reform and the fact that elected officials are going to force an unpopular bill through Congress. A recent study published in the journal of "Health Affairs" suggests that rising healthcare costs in California can also be attributed to increasing hospital fees while Massachusetts Attorney General, Martha Cokely has determined hospital and physician groups are drivers there.
