Healthcare Summit Set for Thursday

The healthcare summit scheduled for Thursday, February 25th will be televised. The President has promised to post his plan on the White House website today and it is expected to give the Health and Human Services secretary greater oversight of the health insurance industry by evaluating rate increases annually.

Meanwhile, governors are concerned with the ramifications of reform citing they will be the ones that will have to fix the problems that will be passed down to the states.

Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) claims the White House along with Democrats are ready to move forward with health reform including a public option by using reconciliation to push through the plan.
