White House Plans to Continue Push for Major Healthcare Reform

Vows to not walk away from American people

Rescue efforts to revive healthcare reform hit the Sunday Morning news programs. Whitehouse spokesman, David Axelrod appeared on ABC's This Week to reaffirm the President's commitment to major healthcare reform with a focus on Medicare, and limitations on out of pocket costs to consumers. Just last week, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced she didn't have the votes to adopt the Senate healthcare bill. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) suggested the President sit down with Republican leaders and adopt some of their ideas such as overhauling medical malpractice and allow interstate health insurance purchasing.
