| News The Partisan Healthcare Debate Continues December 1, 2009 Senator Reid confident the Senate will pass a healthcare bill. Under the threat of getting the healthcare reform bill passed by Christmas, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has suggested working weekends. Senate Republicans have asked Health and Human Services for an actuarial analysis of the bill in what some believe is a tactic to slow down the process. In the interim, special interest groups are lining up (at the cost of $250,000 each) to purchase ads targeting 14 Senators in 10 states. All of this is taking place while six hospitals in Massachusetts are suing the state for "below market" reimbursement rates. In some cases, the repayment rates do not cover the cost of medical care.
