Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Announces Cuts

MRI's and CT scans are targets of cuts

Physicians who utilize CT scans and MRI's to screen for diseases will see a cut in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule up to 38 percent. CMS also announced a 21.5 percent cut for all physicians with lower reimbursements for specialists.

The House is likely to see activity on the health care bill this week. The Senate has yet to release their final bill which is rumored to include a public option. Senator John Boehner (R-OH) announced the GOP will release a health care reform proposal which will not: increase taxes, cut existing government programs for the poor and elderly, or have mandates on individuals.
