| News House Releases "Affordable Health Care for America Act" October 30, 2009 Uncertain if they have enough votes to pass it. The House Democrats released all 1,990 pages of the Affordable Health Care for America Act" yesterday. Reports from the Congressional Business Office indicate the costs for additional coverage alone is over $1 Trillion Dollars. Expenses for disease prevention were omitted for the bill and it is unclear of that cost. Unlike the Senate version, the House version does not have an opt-out for states. The taxes that will be implemented to help fund this version of the bill will fall on "wealthy" individuals. Criticism of this tax is that it is not indexed for inflation.
