Baucus Introduces Senate Finance Health Reform Legislation

October 20, 2009

Closed-door talks to reconcile the two committees' bills will resume in Harry Reid's (D-NV) office

Today's edition of the NAHU Newswire reports that Majority Leader, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), Finance Chairman, Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) and the number 2 Democrat on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) as well as White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel and Nancy-Ann DeParle, President Obama's chief healthcare adviser will meet in a closed door session to work out the details of combining the two Senate Committee's bills. A major difference between the two plans is the Baucus plan does not contain a public option and the HELP version does.
