Medicaid Enrollment Increased at Higher Than Expected Rate

Federal aid in stimulus package lessened gap on state budgets

According to Kaiser, Medicaid enrollment grew an average of 5.4 percent in fiscal 2009, the highest in six years. The report also indicated that projected pending was set at 5.8 percent but actual spending was 7.9 percent.
