Data Indicates Massachusetts has Highest Family Coverage Premium in Nation

Average family premium was $13,788 in 2008

In the September 16, 2009 edition of the NAHU Newswire, a front page article in the September 16th Boston Globe reports that the average family premium was $13,788 in 2008 (the most recent year data available). Premiums are expected to increase about ten percent this year.

Senator Baucus' compromise reform bill is meeting with opposition from both parties in the Senate Finance Committee.

Senator Reid claims he many not have an alternative other than to use reconciliation to push through a healthcare reform bill.
